Students from all over the world have benefited from the Mansion House Scholars Scheme. Details of some of our Scholars and their Scholarships are outlined below.
BRAZIL – Miss Marina Galvão Marina Galvão comes from Rio de Janeiro. She is a graduate of the Catholic University of Rio where she gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She joined Ernst & Young, Brazil on graduation in December 2004 and was acting as a Senior Consultant with the raising of Project Finance on a range of activities, including those associated with renewable energy and bio fuels. Miss Galvão took a Masters Degree in Finance at the London Business School in 2010.
CHINA – Miss WANG Rui Wang Rui and works for the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) in Beijing. She has worked for CBRC and also the World Bank since graduating from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2006. Miss Wang took the the MBA Finance Course at the Judge Business School, Cambridge University in 2010, before returning to the CBRC..
FINLAND – Miss Paula Majanen Paula Majanen took an MPhil in Management at Darwin College, Cambridge in 2008, having previously studied for a BSc at the LSE. She has remained in UK and now works as an analyst with Morgan Stanley, working as an analyst.
INDIA – Dr Mamta Suri Dr Mamta Suri is a Deputy Director in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) based in Hyderabad. She holds a Doctorate in Finance from the University of Delhi and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Ms Suri attended the MSc course in Insurance and Risk Management at Cass Business School in 2009.
NIGERIA – Miss Basirat Giwa Basirat Giwa is a Graduate of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where she gained an MBA in Economics. She also worked as a Senior Banking Officer in the Financial Control Group of Guaranty Trust Bank, Nigeria, which she joined in 2004. She took an MSc in Finance and Investment at Exeter University in 2009 and is now working in London for the United National Bank of Nigeria.
OMAN – Miss Fatma Al-Maimani Fatma Al-Maimani worked as an Investment Analyst with the Public Authority for Social Insurance in Oman for three years before coming to the UK. She is a graduate of the Sultan Qaboos University and has recently qualified as a Certified Financial Analyst. Miss Al-Maimani attended Durham University in 2009, studying for an MSc in Finance and Investment.
